Children’s Museum of the Highlands - The Children's Museum of the Highlands purpose is to provide a safe area for children (ages 1 - 12) to learn and explore. Through exhibits and ongoing programs the museum hopes to provide ways for kids to enhance their curiosity develop their imagination and learn about a variety of experiences. It is hoped that the children will see the museum as a fun place to play and leave the museum with the knowledge that learning can be fun. They will see that the opportunity to learn is everywhere and hopefully they will use the knowledge as they grow.

Henscratch Farms Winery - Located in the Heart of Florida, Henscratch Farms Vineyard & Winery is a unique farming and guest experience. We are a certified "Florida Farm Winery". The property boasts 10 acres of native southern muscadine and scuppernong grape varieties, a hydroponics growing system for strawberry production, and a highbush blueberry patch. But the true charm is the 200 American breed laying hens that range freely among the vineyard canopy that supply our country store with fresh eggs. Visit the farm, sample the Award Winning "Country Style Wines", or just sit a spell on the Florida Cracker-style porch before wandering through the grounds to explore the other unique projects in progress.
Highlands Hammock State Park - One of Florida´s oldest parks, opening to the public in 1931, this park was established when local citizens came together to promote the hammock as a candidate for national park status. During the Great Depression, just prior to World War II, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) developed additional park facilities and the beginnings of a botanical garden. Many visitors enjoy bicycling the scenic 3-mile loop drive or hiking along the park´s nine trails. An elevated boardwalk traverses an old-growth cypress swamp. Picnicking is another popular activity as are ranger-guided tours of the park. Highlands Hammock offers a full-facility campground, as well as a youth/group tent campground. A recreation hall is available for rental, as are several picnic pavilions.
Highlands Little Theater - The mission of Highlands Little Theater is to provide a venue for community participation in live theatrical production, thereby enhancing the quality of cultural arts in the Highlands County, Florida area.
Mural Tours of Lake Placid - Over 36 murals can be seen on the buildings in Lake Placid . There is a self-guide tour book with a built-in scavenger hunt that may be purchased at the Kenilworth Lodge or the Lake Placid Visitors Center.
