Kenilworth Lodge is pleased to announce that it has been voted "Best Hotel" in Highlands County by Highlands Today readers and local residents.
Madge Stewart, hotel co-owner, said that "Since George Sebring built the Kenilworth Lodge in 1916, it has been known for its friendly staff and Florida ambience. We are proud to continue those traditions for local residents and visitors."
The Kenilworth is nearing its centenial celebration. It turned 94 in January 2010. While many parts of the hotel remain true to its origin, the owners have continued to add upgrades throughout the years. the Kenilworth has all the modern conveniences including WiFi throughout the property, a business center and a fitness center.
This year it has added a new pub, the Cusworth Arms, just off the main lobby. There is also a new outdoor cobble stone courtyard with a winding path flanked by royal palms leading to the pool. "There are many months that are excellent for outdoor functions. Now brides won't have to book two venues to have an outdoor wedding," according to sales manager, Tenille Lee.
The owners and staff at the Kenilworth are very excited about being voted "Best Hotel" for Highlands County. it is thier intention to continue the traditions that led to this award.
